On the right, fans can see the player's loadout and the crossbow that reads R1 Shadowhunter. The clip was posted to Reddit by RegularMan6969, and it shows the player loading into a new round of Gunfight. Players are assigned randomized loadouts, placed on the map, and put into a game of elimination. Fortunately, anyone who bought the weapon from the in-game store had their money refunded but, according to Treyarch, players that made progress on the unlock challenge had their progress reset.A Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War fan believes they have discovered a hidden crossbow in the game. Treyarch accidentally released the crossbow early last week and pulled the weapon a few hours later. The R1 is one of the new weapons for Black Ops Cold War and Warzone season 2. The Archaic Range Bundle includes the “Lancehead” weapon blueprint, which outfits the Shadowhunter with a few special attachments, the “Medieval Archer” animated emblem, the “Olde Time Sniper” sticker, and the “Stolen Idol” charm.
The other, much faster method is to simply purchase the “Archaic Range” Bundle from the in-game store. If players want to unlock the R1 via that challenge, they’ll first need to unlock the challenge itself, but Treyarch hasn’t revealed how that works just yet. The first method involves completing a challenge by using a weapon with no attachments to get three “One Shot, One Kill” medals in 15 different matches. Treyarch is giving players two different ways to unlock the R1 Shadowhunter once the weapon is in the game.
After an unintentional early release last week, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone ’s R1 Shadowhunter crossbow will officially be released on March 24, Treyarch announced Monday.
